Neil W. Blackmon joined the firm as an associate in 2021. Mr. Blackmon focuses his practice in the areas of litigation support, appeals and complex civil litigation.

Prior to joining Kramer Green, Mr. Blackmon worked for six years an assistant public defender in multiple jurisdictions, gaining extensive motion, appellate, and trial experience. In both 2012 and 2013, Mr. Blackmon was honored by the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers with the “Hat Trick” Award for consecutive not guilty verdicts in a calendar year. Mr. Blackmon also served as a member of the Florida Bar Association Government Lawyers Executive Council in 2015. In 2016, he received an award for pro bono excellence from Three Rivers Legal Services of Gainesville.

Mr.Blackmon transitioned to civil practice in 2017 and rose to the level of junior partner at astatewide civil litigation firm in January 2020. At that firm, he focused his practice in the areas of insurance coverage, appeals, civil rights, professional malpractice, commercial carrier litigation, products liability and complex civil litigation. In January 2020, Mr. Blackmon joined a national law firm where he served as Senior Counsel. He focused his practice at that firm in the areas of commercial carrier litigation, litigation support, and complex civil litigation. Mr. Blackmon also has extensive election law experience, having represented numerous political candidates in local, administrative matters and federal court proceedings. Between his criminal and civil practice, Mr. Blackmon has tried over 35 cases to verdict and handled over 30 appeals from notice of appeal to dismissal or final judgment.

Mr. Blackmon attended the University of Florida for both undergraduate and law school. As an undergraduate, he became the first student in University of Florida history to be named a three-time All-American as a member of the debate team. In law school, Mr. Blackmon earned book awards in two courses and served as a student research assistant to Professor Kenneth Nunn and Professor Daniel Sokol. He also served as a research assistant for the UF Center for the Study of Race and Race Relations.

Mr. Blackmon has two daughters, Mila and Elizabeth, one of whom is on the autism spectrum. He is active in his community, volunteering with autism causes, the Wounded Warrior Project, and coaching basketball.
