Thomas G. Regnier
Tom Regnier has won appeals in the Florida Supreme Court, all five of Florida's District Courts of Appeal, and the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Eleventh Circuit. He has extensive experience with both civil and criminal appeals, and he practices in both state and federal courts. Tom received his B.A. from Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law and an LL.M. from Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan F. Stone scholar. Tom clerked for Judge Melvia Green in Florida's Third District Court of Appeal and for Judge Harry Leinenweber in the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Illinois. He has also taught as an adjunct professor at University of Miami School of Law and at Chicago's John Marshall Law School. Tom’s scholarly articles have appeared in NYU Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, Santa Clara Law Review, and UMKC Law Review, among others. Tom has also spoken extensively on the topic of legal issues in Shakespeare's works. His presentation, "Hamlet and the Law of Homicide: the Life of the Mind in Law and Art" was chosen by the Dade County Bar Association as one of its inaugural lectures in its Thurgood Marshall Distinguished Lecture Series in 2016.
